UX Tip for Zoom

“Your client has been successfully updated.”

This can definitely be said better, Zoom.

In the tech world, the word “client” refers to a version of software, but for my human clients… actual people… this makes no sense.

I can imagine people thinking “which client?” “what update did they receive?” “was their version of Zoom updated too?”

Improvement

It would be better to say “Update complete.” Or “You’re running the latest version of Zoom.”

When you write copy, write for your users and remember that they don’t work in your industry. They might not know your lingo. Keep it simple and clear to keep your clients happy.
